What Does OCB Stand For?

Like many rolling paper companies, OCB is defined by its history. The name “OCB” is an acronym representing the most important elements of the company’s past, present, and future. (Original Rolling Papers) O - OCB’s first paper mill was erected on the banks of France’s Odet river in 1822. The founders cited that “it’s very useful to have water nearby when you’re making paper”, especially since at the time it was difficult to get large amounts of water for making the necessary pulp. (Odet River, France) Appropriately for a company that began near a freshwater body, OCB has always been a big...

Posted by Robert C on

Anyone who calls smokers lazy or unambitious deserves a roundhouse kick from UFC fighter Nate Diaz. Diaz was the winner of the reality show competition The Ultimate Fighter 5 and is currently the #5 ranked lightweight in the UFC. He's also a VERY avid smoker, which he isn't shy about sharing with his fans. During a special edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Diaz - via Skype - showed off a fan-gift: a UFC glove converted into a bong using a RooR Phuncky Feel Tip. This isn't the first time Diaz has received a bong as a present:...

NY Art Exhibit Features One Of A Kind Heady Glass

As smoking culture gains more acceptance, several art galleries have taken the opportunity to showcase some of America's most innovative heady glass artists. David Bienenstock - the former Head of Content of High Times - has been a key player in smoking culture for years, making him the perfect curator for the non-profit ApexArt gallery's "Outlaw Glass" exhibit. Running until May 27, this exhibit endeavors to show - according to its press release - "how the most exciting movement in art glass today comes from those creating innovative, high-end artifacts that just happen to double to double as tools for...". Rooftop Bar Sells Bong Cocktails

Rooftop Bar Sells Bong Cocktails

With a name that that literally means "the highest point of orbit", it only makes sense that Chicago's newest rooftop bar - Apogee - chose a bong as the vessel for their "Mr. Nice Guy" cocktail (which is named as a reference to the smoker comedy "Half Baked"). What's in Mr. Nice Guy? We're not sure yet, as the bar only opened a few days prior to this post. We do know that the smoke in the bong is created through white oak and dehydrated blackberry. So if those sound tasty to you, give the Mr. Nice Guy a try next...

New Animal Donut Glass From Empire Glassworks!

Well these are different! Empire Glassworks - known for their detailed and visually stunning worked glass pipes - has created a line of glass pieces that combine cute critters and fried dough, including a Kitty Donut Bong (seen above) , a Kitty Donut Hand Pipe and a Panda Donut Bowl Slide! Wondering who'd come up with such an odd idea? Japan, of course: Empire's glass pieces are based on the popular snack "doubutsu doonatsu", which literally means "animal donuts". These are regular donuts that are frosted to resemble cats, pandas, pigs and other animals. The trend was started by the food...

We feel you, that's why we just acquired several new rolling papers that are sure to add some variety to your next smoke sesh!  Bambu is one of the World's 1000 Oldest Companies, beginning in 1764. NY Smoker Leaves Out Free Bong For 4/20

Whether it's Christmas, Thanksgiving or 4/20, some people really get into the holiday spirit. Case in point, whoever left out this free bent neck bong on the curb in Glendale, NY this morning. Just in case anyone was wary, the generous smoker even left a note asking someone to "put me on sidewalk...somebody will take me". While most people would shy away from a bong left next to trash, it's really the thought that counts. And for the lucky person who comes across this bong, here's a suggestion: give that bong a good cleaning.  Photo courtesy of DNAinfo

Trump Advisor Celebrates 4/20 With Nixon Bong

Posted by Robert C on

Who would've thought the (alleged) architect of Watergate would find himself on a water-PIPE? Nobody, but that didn't stop our 37th president from being infamous among 70's youth. So much so that the counterculture often adopted his image ironically, as is the case with this vintage bong owned by Roger Stone, former campaign advisor for President Trump.  The aptly named Stone tweeted this piece sitting next to pictures of his family and what looks like a Christmas tree that's been up for WAY too long. Also: his shy cat hides in the background. Stone's tweet commemorates 4/20, a smoker holiday of...

Philadelphia Museum Showcases Bongs as High Art

We at DankStop think all bongs are beautiful, so it’s a pleasure to see some of America’s best glass artists getting their due at Philadelphia’s National Liberty Museum. Till May 7th, this museum will have an exhibit titled “The Treachery of Images”, which will feature over 50 hand-crafted water pipes from 20 prominent glass producers. The title of the exhibit is a reference to a 1929 Belgian surrealist painting by Rene Magritte, which features a pipe and French text saying “This Is Not A Pipe.” Appropriately, the museum’s glass director - Meegan Coll - said in an interview with Fox...

Vaporizers 101: A Beginner's Guide to Vapes

Vaporizers: they’ve become quite the hit, with both good - and bad - light being shed on this ever-growing trend. But, there’s a lot more to them than you might think - and, they can be a healthy alternative, depending on the type of vaporizer being used. Vaporizers work by heating essential oils, herbs and tobacco at a cooler temperature - around 284°F to be exact. The product is then converted into vapor - a healthier, toxin-free alternative to combustion (that is, burning, which happens at around 446°F). Instead of combustion, vaporizers work by conduction or convective heating. With conduction,...
