A spoon pipe, also called a glass spoon or pipe spoon, is a compact hand pipe with a bowl, mouthpiece, and side carb for airflow. Small, simple, and always in somebody's jacket pocket, it's the classic dry herb spoon. Pick your style: a mini fumed spoon, a thick daily driver, a silicone spoon, or a themed piece.
What Is a Spoon Pipe?
A spoon pipe is a small hand pipe with four parts: a bowl, a neck, a mouthpiece, and a carb. It burns dry herb without water, unlikebongs. Your finger on the side carb sets the airflow, so you decide how strong each hit is.
Each part has one job:
Bowl: the round spoon bowl you fill from yourherb grinder.
Start with a 4 inch classic if you're unsure. Apipe case keeps your spoon from knocking around in your bag. Addlighters and hemp wickso you're ready to light up.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a spoon pipe?
A spoon pipe is a spoon-shaped hand pipe for dry herb, with a side carb you cover to control airflow. Some shoppers call it a pipe spoon. Glass is the classic build, but silicone, metal, stone, and wood spoons exist too.
How do you use a spoon pipe?
To use a spoon pipe, pack ground dry herb into the bowl and put a finger over the carb. Light the herb while you pull gently. Once smoke fills the neck, lift your finger off the carb and keep pulling to clear it.
What should you look for in a glass spoon pipe?
Look for borosilicate glass, a length that fits how you carry it, and a deep bowl. Borosilicate resists cracks and heat, and thick builds add durability. Minis around 3 inches fit a pocket, while 4 to 5 inch classics suit daily use.
What is a dry herb spoon?
A dry herb spoon is another name for a spoon pipe, the classic hand pipe made for ground dry herb. Its deep spoon bowl holds your pack, and the side carb controls each pull. Spoons for dry herb need no water or batteries.
How do you clean a spoon pipe?
To clean a glass spoon pipe, shake it in a zip bag with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt until the resin breaks loose. Rinse it, clear the neck and carb with a pipe cleaner, and let it air-dry. Wood spoons need a dry wipe instead.
What's the best hand pipe for a beginner?
The best hand pipe for a beginner is a glass spoon pipe. It has just four parts, and learning how to use a spoon pipe comes down to one side carb. For travel, a silicone spoon pipe is the tougher pick.
What's the difference between a spoon pipe and a chillum?
A spoon pipe has a side carb, and a chillum has none. That carb lets you control airflow and clear the neck between pulls. The chillum pipe, often called a one-hitter, is a straight tube you light at the tip and pull straight through.
