A dab straw is a slim, handheld concentrate tool that lets you dab without a rig. The heated end goes straight to your wax or other concentrate while you inhale through the mouthpiece. Styles include glass, quartz, silicone, titanium-tip and battery-powered electric straws.

How do you use a dab straw?

To use a dab straw with wax or another concentrate, follow three steps. First, put a butane torch to the tip, or switch on an electric model. Next, wait a moment, then touch the tip to your concentrate. Last, inhale slowly and set the hot tip on a heat-safe surface.

Is a honey straw the same as a dab straw?

Yes, a honey straw is the same tool as a dab straw. It's a naming thing, not a design difference. Honeybee Herb calls its quartz straw a honey straw, and you'll also see dabber straw or concentrate straw. Whatever the label says, a honey straw dab works the same way.

Can you use a regular metal straw for dabs?

No, a regular metal drinking straw isn't made for dabbing, so leave it in the kitchen. Wondering how to smoke dabs with a metal straw? Use a purpose-made titanium-tip dab straw instead, since it's built for the heat. Quartz, glass and silicone straws handle the job too.

Which is better, a glass or quartz dab straw?

Quartz wins on heat, and glass wins on style. A quartz dab straw handles high heat better than glass and resists shattering, so it's the tougher pick. Glass dab straws come in more shapes and colors, like donut bodies and honeycomb percs. Choose quartz if you torch often, or glass if looks matter more.

What is an electric dab straw?

An electric dab straw, also called an electric dabber straw, is a battery-powered straw that heats with a coil instead of a torch. The Dip Devices Little Dipper pairs a quick-heat coil with a 600mAh battery, USB-C charging (cable not included) and digital temperature control. Replaceable atomizers keep its flavor fresh.

Dab Straw: Glass, Quartz & Silicone Honey Straw

A dab straw, or honey straw, is a slim tube with a heated tip you touch straight to your concentrate. There's no bulky rig to carry, so it's easy to toss in a bag. Choose glass, quartz or silicone, a tough titanium tip, or an electric straw that heats itself on battery power.

What Is a Dab Straw?

A dab straw is a portable concentrate accessory that does the job of a rig in one handheld tool. You'll also see it sold as a honey straw, a dabber straw or a concentrate straw. The dab straws here come in five styles: glass, quartz, silicone, titanium-tip and electric.

Unlike a full dab rig, which cools vapor through water and stays put on a table, a dab straw travels light. That makes it the go-to for quick honey straw dabs away from home. Water-chamber pieces and full dab straw kits with torches and cases also sit with DankStop's nectar collector straws.

Glass, Quartz or Silicone Dab Straw: Which Should You Pick?

Pick glass for home sessions, quartz for high heat and silicone for travel. Here's how all five styles compare, each matched to a straw in this grid.

Style	How it feels	Upkeep	Straw to try
Glass dab straw	Smooth, in clear or colored glass	Cleans like your other glass; can break if dropped	Glass Donut Dab Straw w/ Quartz Tip
Quartz dab straw	Solid; takes high heat better than glass	Shatter-resistant; same cleaner as your glass rig	Honeybee Herb Quartz Dab Straw
Silicone dab straw	Durable body that handles drops	Easy to clean and travel-friendly	Silicone Dab-zooka (4-inch, titanium tip)
Titanium tip	Sturdy metal tip made for longevity	No glass at the tip to crack	SeshGear Reclaimer
Electric dab straw	Quick-heat coil, no torch needed	USB-C charging; replaceable atomizer (the heating part)	Dip Devices Little Dipper

Choose a titanium tip for longevity, or go electric to leave the torch behind.

Borosilicate is the only dab straw glass named in these listings, and it resists heat well. Quartz takes even more heat, and the same material carries over to rigs through quartz bangers and nails.

What Sizes and Tips Do Dab Straws Come In?

Dab straws here come in lengths from 4 to 9.5 inches, with tips that are either fixed or swappable. Every tip size listed is 10mm, in quartz or titanium.

A few straws add a perc, short for percolator, a built-in chamber that cools vapor. Examples include the 6-inch Pulsar Dab Straw w/ Honeycomb Diffuser and the 8.5-inch Pulsar Quartz Internal Twist Perc. The Internal Twist uses a double helix design and is made to be used dry, with no water.

Some straws add handy extras: the Terp Drip stands on its own feet and includes a joint clip. You don't need a full dab straw kit to start, since a torch-heated straw only needs a butane torch. Dab tools and silicone pieces from dabber accessories round out the setup.

Dab Straw Brands: Pulsar, Honeybee Herb, SeshGear and Dip Devices

Together, these four brands cover all five dab straw styles in the table. Pulsar makes quartz, glass and silicone straws, including the RIP Silicone Vapor Vessel with built-in storage. Grateful Dead fans also get an officially licensed 6.5-inch Grateful Dead x Pulsar straw with a diffusion chamber.

Quartz stays simple with Honeybee Herb, whose straw adds dual Maria rings, two raised rings near the tip that help it hold heat. On the titanium side, SeshGear builds its 6.5-inch Reclaimer around a titanium tip. Skip the torch entirely: Dip Devices makes the Little Dipper, which comes with an LCD screen and digital temperature control.
