Fill a dish or container with cold water
Add ice cubes
Use the pliers to grab the bottom of your titanium nail
Using a torch, heat the head of your nail for about a minute (or until it is completely red)
Dip the head of the nail straight into the water so that it is completely submerged
Swirl the nail around in the water for about 5 to 10 seconds so that all areas of the head have had contact with the water
Lightly shake nail over container to remove any remaining water
Repeat steps 4 through 7 TWO more times (for a total of THREE dunks into the container)
Your titanium nail is seasoned and ready for use!
