The two primary options for concentrate use are the vape pen and the dab rig. The vaporizer provides portability and ease while the dab rig provides potency and flexibility. Vaporizer producer Dr. Dabber - already a known for high quality vape pens like their Light Vaporizer Kit - have combined the best qualities of both with their Boost E-Rig Kit: a portable electronic dab rig.
What Does It Come With?
Opening up the metal case of your Boost Kit reveals several items, including:
- 1 Boost E-Rig
- 1 Glass Water Attachment
- 1 Domeless Titanium Nail
- 1 Domeless Ceramic Nail
- 1 Domeless Quartz Nail
- 1 Magnetic Carb Cap
- 1 Magnetic Loading Tool
- 2 Medical Grade Silicon Storage Containers
- 1 Micro USB Charging Cable
- 1 Limited Edition Dr. Dabber Keychain
- Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes (for cleaning)
The most important part of your set is the E-Rig itself; a hefty electronic piece shaped like a flashlight. The e-rig acts in the same way as a butane torch: it heats whichever of your three dab nails you put into the e-rig’s joint. Unlike a torch, the e-rig has a simple one-button construction that can replicate low temp dabbing around 515 degrees with three clicks (if you’re using titanium) and high temp dabbing around 600 degrees with five clicks (if you’re using quartz or ceramic). Dr. Dabber is particularly proud of the Boost’s ability to create effortless low temp dabs; which they strove for with their line of wax pens.
Glass Water Attachment
On top of you e-rig goes the glass water attachment, which allows for your e-rig to have the clean water filtration of a vapor rig. Dr. Dabber not only uses American glass for these attachments, they’re all blown by an in-house glass artist who prides himself on the use of high quality borosilicate glass. This allows for the Boost to have the clean flavor and durability of a regular dab rig. And once filled with water, you’ll have the water filtration of one as well. That filtration is helped by the attachment’s dome perc and splashguard.
Topping the Boost is the magnetic carb cap. Given the Boost’s niche as a reliable low-temp dabber, having the carb cap allows you to consistently trap the vapor coming from your rig. Since it’s magnetic, you don’t have to hold it in place while inhaling like most carb caps. The magnetic loading tool screws into your carb cap, meaning that once you put on a dab, you can turn it around and rest it on top of the rig. No effort needed!
Silicon Storage Containers
Rounding out your Boost Kit’s tools are your two silicon storage containers. Whether you need somewhere to put your just-purchased concentrates or your leftover dabs, these containers are stick-proof. They also sport the Dr. Dabber logo, which is also on the included keychain.
USB Charging Cable
The Boost charges through a micro USB charging cable and provides 30-40 uses when fully charged. The battery is interchangeable, so you can purchase an extra battery if you plan on taking a long trip with no way to charge your Boost. You can disassemble and reassemble your e-rig anywhere after charging.
How To Use It
- Fill the glass attachment about ¼ full with water
- Click the button 3-5 times (depending on the nail)
- When the LED turns blue (25 seconds for low temp and 45 for high temp), dab some oil on the nail then immediately place the carb cap over it (it should be attached to the loading tool at this point)
- If you want a hotter dab, start the Boost a second time immediately after the first heat cycle completes
The Boost E-rig is a great choice for newer dabbers who want a simpler way to enjoy their concentrates. It’s also good for experienced dabbers who want a rig they can take with them anywhere. Either way, the Boost E-Rig Kit is an excellent buy for anyone interested in the future of dabbing.
